FOR MEMBERS
The APFTQ provides free information and training sessions for its members on industrial relations, financing, copyright and other topics.
FOR SALARIED EMPLOYEES OF PRODUCERS
Pursuant to the provincial Act to Foster the Development of Manpower Training, employers whose total payroll exceeds the amount set by the government for a given fiscal year must invest at least 1% of the payroll amount in admissible training expenditures. If less than 1% is spent, the difference must be paid to the government or to an accredited training body.
The RFAVQ (Regroupement pour la formation en audiovisuel du Québec) is a government-certified collective formed to meet film and television training needs. It is a joint initiative of the APFTQ and Quebec’s two recognized technicians’ unions, the STCVQ and the APVQ. The advantage to paying the 1% fee to the RFAVQ is that it directly benefits the industry through the training of production company salaried employees, including technicians.
